Premier League: Sergio Aguero bezkonkurencyjny, koniec marzeń Ceska Fabregasa o rekordzie asyst

Sergio Aguero po raz kolejny umocnił się na czele klasyfikacji kanadyjskiej Premier League. Cesc Fabregas stracił natomiast szansę na pobicie rekordu Thierry'ego Henry'ego.

Argentyńczyk asystował przy bramce Jamesa Milnera w wyjazdowym meczu ze Swansea City (4:2) i w sumie ma już na koncie 34 pkt., o dziewięć wyprzedzając Harry'ego Kane'a oraz Edena Hazarda.

W czołówce swój dorobek poprawili jeszcze Charlie Austin (ostatnie podanie przy trafieniu Matta Phillipsa w starciu z Newcastle United), David Silva (dwie asysty na Liberty Stadium) oraz fenomenalnie grający w potyczce z Chelsea Saido Berahino. Anglik wbił świeżo upieczonemu mistrzowi Anglii dwa gole. Jeden z nich padł po rzucie karnym, który sam wywalczył.

Cesc Fabregas wygra zestawienie najlepszych asystentów, ale przez czerwoną kartkę na The Hawthorns stracił szansę na pobicie rekordu Thierry'ego Henry'ego. W edycji 2002/2003 Francuz zebrał 20 ostatnich podań i od ponad dekady dzierży najlepszy wynik w historii. Tak będzie jeszcze co najmniej przez rok.

Długo wydawało się, że Hiszpan przebije osiągnięcie byłej gwiazdy Arsenalu, jednak w drugiej połowie sezonu nie był już tak produktywny jak jesienią i ostatecznie zebrał 19 asyst (według niektórych klasyfikacji 18, bo nie każdy zalicza mu punkt za wywalczenie rzutu karnego w pojedynku ze Stoke City).
